Bridging the Gap 2024: The Digital Generation

Tech Skills training

Project Details:

It has now become nearly impossible to talk about education and empowerment without addressing #digitalliteracy.

Unfortunately, the digital divide has persisted in rural communities, and low-income homes, and is even more exacerbated in girls who are usually the least prioritized in these cases.

In the course of our work with girls, we have experienced firsthand, how incredibly low the percentage of girls with substantial digital literacy is in our communities, we decided that the focus of our annual conference this year would be to contribute towards bridging this divide in digital literacy among girls in public schools located in the rural communities.

Our goal is to reach 500 girls through this conference.

Hence, beginning on the 10th of October, we will be visiting 5 public schools in commemoration of the #Internationaldayofthegirlchild to address this challenge.

We will also launch a follow-up intensive tech skills training for girls to consolidate everything that will be taught during the conference.
